Day 1: Arrival in Athens

Upon arrival at Athens International Airport, you will be met with our driver and transferred to your hotel, where our representative will be waiting to deliver the envelope with all necessary documentation and provide you with information about the destination. Balance of the day at leisure. Accommodation in Athens

Distance:  Athens international airport-City center 33 km -35 minutes

Day 2: Athens City tour with Acropolis and museum

Breakfast at your hotel and pick up in the morning, at the indicated time for a half day tour of the city of Athens, regular bases, that includes guided panoramic tour of the city and visit of the Acropolis and the museum of Acropolis . Pick up from your hotel and return to your hotel.

We will make a panoramic tour of the main avenues of Athens, highlighting Panepistimiou Avenue (University). We will pass through Syntagma Square, the Parliament, the monument to the unknown soldier that we will see next to the colorful uniforms of the Evzones guards outside the Royal Palace. We continue to the Kalimarmaro Stadium, site of the first Olympic Games of the Modern Age (1896). Then we will move to the sacred rock of the Acropolis is a pilgrimage to the cradle of Western civilization. Among its many attractions, we will visit the Theater of Herodes Atticus, the Propylaea, the Parthenon temple, the Erechtheion temple or Temple of the Caryatids and the small Temple of Nike. A stop at the panoramic tower of the Acropolis will help us explain everything that we can see from here, such as the eight hills of Athens (Lycabettus, Pnix, Filopapou, etc.) as well as the city of Athens. We will observe theTemple of Olympian Zeus, the Arch of Hadrian, the Parliament, the Zappion, etc… Later on, a new stop to contemplate the ancient theater of Dionysus and we continue with the visit of the famous Acropolis Museum. If you wish, when the tour ends you can stay walking through the picturesque streets of the Plaka neighborhood and return to the hotel on your own. Rest of the day free and accommodation.

Day 3: Athens  – Olympia

After breakfast, pick up from hotel for your 4day Classical Greece tour to explore the glory of ancient Greece with and visit five UNESCO’S world heritage sites. We depart from Athens for the Corinth canal (short stop). After our short stop at Corinth, we drive to Epidaurus and visit the Ancient theatre, world famous for its outstanding acoustics. We then proceed to Nauplia (short stop) and through the plain of Argos, we arrive to Mycenae, where we visit its archaeological site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. In the afternoon (optional stop for souvenirs), we depart for Olympia, the birth place of the Olympic Games.  Overnight stay in Olympia and dinner at the hotel.

Athens city center – Corinth: 78 km – 1 hour and 10 minutes

Corinth – Epidaurus:  64 km- 1 hour
Epidaurus – Nafplia: 27 km- 30 minutes

Nafplia – Mycenae: 24 km -30 minutes
Mycenae – Olympia: 200 km- 2,5 hours

Day 4: Olympia – Delphi

We start our day with a visit to the Olympia archaeological site with the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Hera, the altar of the Olympic flame, the Stadium and the archaeological Museum. After Olympia, we depart via Patras (short stop) to Rion, cross the Corinthian bay by the bridge to Antirion. Pass by the city of Nafpaktos and from there on, along the coastal road to Delphi, known in ancient times as the navel of the world. In the afternoon, we visit the picturesque mountain village of Arachova. Overnight stay in Delphi and dinner at the hotel.

Day 5: Delphi – Kalambaka (Meteora)

In the morning, we visit the archaeological site and the Museum of Delphi. After our navigation through the center of earth and universe for Ancient Greeks, Delphi, we depart for Kalambaka, by crossing the Thessalian plain in Central Greece through the cities of Lamia (short stop) and Trikala. Kalambaka is a small town built at the foot of the majestic Meteora grey rocks, just below the Monasteries.
Overnight stay in Kalambaka and dinner at the hotel.

Delphi-Lamia 90 km -1 hour and 30 minutes
Lamia- Kalambaka 143 km- 1 hour and 50 minutes

Day 6: Meteora- Athens

Today, we depart in the morning for nearby Meteora on a tour of the cliff-top monasteries by visiting two different Byzantine Monasteries, built on top of rock towers and offering fantastic views over the plain. Meteora is included on the UNESCO world heritage monument list. The monasteries are perched on top of towers of sandstone, which provided the monks with totally inaccessible retreats for centuries. Meteora is considered one of the most beautiful areas of Greek mainland and its cluster of monasteries is one of the country’s most unique attractions.  We return to Athens passing by the heroic monument of Leonidas, the King of Sparta in Thermopylae (short stop for photos). The tour returns to Athens late in the afternoon.

NOTE: Appropriate dress is required to visit the Monasteries. For the ladies, long skirts with covered shoulders and long trousers for the gentlemen.

Kalambaka-Meteora 2 km – 5 minutes drive
Meteora -Thermopylae 164 km- 2 hours and 10 minutes
Thermopylae- Athens 200 km-2 hours and 20 minutes

Day 7: One day cruise

Early breakfast and at the indicated time pick from your hotel and transfer to the Port  , you’ll set sail for the 3 islands of the Argosaronic Gulf. As soon as the cruise ship leaves, the ship’s guide and the hostesses will help you get acquainted and shall give you all the information concerning the ship, the program of the cruise and to make sure you will have a pleasant day. Take advantage of this day cruise

from Athens to the fabulous Greek islands of Hydra, Poros and Aegina for a relaxing day on the sea. With all your transport, transfers and buffet lunch organized, you can sit back and enjoy your leisurely day cruise with free time on each island to explore.

The island of Hydra is the favorite island of the jet set, whose old traditional beautiful stone houses and mansions silently witness to a long and turbulent story. Although Poros is the smallest of the three islands that we visit, its attraction is the narrow strait offering the most enchanting view of the town. Buffet lunch on board.

Aegina is a popular getaway for Athenians during the summer months, as this lovely island is only 31 miles (50 kilometers) from Athens. Upon arrival to the island, you can either join an optional excursion to the Temple of Aphaia or take a walk around the main town. On our way back to Athens, a traditional Greek folk show with singers and dancers will entertain you up to the final moment as the ship arrives at the port , from where you will be transferred back to Athens aprox. at 20.00 in the afternoon. Day 8: Departure from Athens

Breakfast at the hotel, morning at leisure for your last-minute shopping or strolling down the streets of Athens. Depending on your international departure flight, transfer to Athens International Airport.
